Südhimmel Hearth held its Einheriar Blot near the foot hills of the Dandenong Rangers; It was a beautiful sunny autumn day, perfect for a good walk along a bush track and up to where we would eventually hold blot.
Unfortunately, being such a beautiful day we were unable to hold blot at one of our favorite spots due to the number of public visitors.
Finding a nice quiet area we set up and held our Einheriar Blot.
Lucky us we were joined by a family of magpies that spent their time walking among us during our time there.
Our blot took a relaxed pace, taking in the day and enjoying our surroundings.
Afterwards we held sumbel, followed by a bbq feast had at another location.
A fantastic day full of good will and comradeship.
Not all members could attend today due to work commitments.

The Einheriar, "those who fight alone" are those who have died in battle and are brought to Valhalla by valkyries.
In Valhalla, the Einheriar eat their fill of the nightly resurrecting beast Sæhrímnir, and valkyries bring them mead from the udder of the goat Heiðrún.
The Einheriar prepare daily for the events of Ragnarök, when they will advance for an immense battle at the field of Vígríðr.
The einherjar are attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources.
