Midsummer - Festival of Balder

Südhimmel Hearth members met for our Midsummer - Festival of Balder blot and sumbel.
It was a glorious summer day 29c, a light wind and nature a buzz with life.
Members spent some time chatting about current affairs and past Südhimmel events etc.

We took a few minutes to settle, calm our breathing and began.
The Landvættir call was performed and offering given.

Blot started.
Small animals were coming in close during blot, checking us out, birds, reptiles etc.
I love when animals come in close during blot, I believe they feel the energy and peace.

Sumbel was held.
A special toast was given by all to my Oma, as we were not able to travel interstate to see her today on her 97th Birthday; she's deaf as a post but still very outgoing and enjoying life : )

Members drew runes from the rune box, then discussing their interpretation.
The Havamal was passed around a number of times with members reading aloud, then discussing their interpretation.

Südhimmel Hearth members and invited guests came together at the closing of the event and said their good wishes and parted company.
