A beautiful winter's afternoon, the temperature was cool with gusty winds but the sun beamed down nicely, keeping the chill away and leaving us warm.
The Landvættir rite was held, then members (2) moved onto performing their sword/blade naming ceremony, each taking their time, passing their sword/blade around the circle for all to lay hands on and call.
Gothi brought the gathering to a peaceful and still stop, giving everyone time to calm their thoughts.
Gunnar performed the rune galdr.
Blot began, with everyone doing their best in the blustery conditions.
All attending peformed the Yule rite.
From oldest to youngest, the white candle was passed, one by one, calling to each "a merry Yule to you" with the youngest lighting the Yule candle, a token of the etenal cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth - an unbroken chain.
Sumbel was taken, with all present reflecting on Faith, Folk and Family.
At the end of our sumbel the rune box was passed around, each drawing a number of runes.
The Havamal was passed around, each person reading a couple of passages.
Later we headed down to a local park for a BBQ feast.
Great food was enjoyed and as always there was plenty of folk related chat.
After what was a wonderful feast, some of us made our way to anther location for the lighting of the sun wheel
After what was a wonderful day, everyone said their goodbyes and wished each other well until we meet again.
